The Importance Of The Readers Response When Content Writing.
How To Write Content That Will Get You Comments
When content writing it is always nice to consider that your hard work isn’t in vain and that someone, somewhere in the world is going to read your article, press release, blog post, websites content or even your novel.
From time to time you may get a comment or e-mail and whether good or bad you do experience a flurry of excitement that someone is interested in what you have to say and are willing to spend their time contributing.
So how exactly can you go about getting your content read and commented on by as many relevant people as possible?
Well, first of all it is important to write about something that is current, take a look at recent news stories online, on blogs, on television and in newspapers or magazines. Research the matter thoroughly and base your writing upon factual information with reliable sources.
It is also important to note, particularly for press release writing, that just because you are writing about your own business it is not impossible to link current events and stories into information about your company, its products and services. This can even work towards improving your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Secondly, it is essential that you place your literature in a place where relevant readers are likely to view it. This could be a press release website, forum, blog or standard website. Just ensure that you are able to place your article or release in a place that has relevant categories. For example, if you are writing about website design it is better to place it on a website with an internet or design section.
There is also a lot to be said about the ways in which articles, Press releases and blog posts are written. The chances are that you will want various people to read your article and so it is essential that you utilise language that is suitable for a range of individuals.
Once again I will use the example of website design; there are plenty of people that are interested in development of the Internet and also a lot of people that are keen website design enthusiasts but may not have a lot of knowledge about the subject, perhaps they are starting out?
Equally it is understandable that if you are writing about web design you are likely to want industry professionals to read your copy, particularly if you consider yourself a reputable Internet or design resource.
My advice would be, don’t make your text too technical, add a few terms in here or there, but always explain what they mean in a non-patronising way. That way you appear informative to those that are interested but don’t necessarily understand the jargon, whilst providing a commentary on a current event to your professional audience.
These are just some of the techniques that you can implement to get people reading and commenting on your copy. However, here at The Creare Group we believe that the best way to learn how and what you should be writing about is through trial, error and by monitoring your work. Looking closely at the ways in which you are writing and the way that it is received by audiences can also help you to improve your Search Engine Optimisation.
