Think SEO before designing a site

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Customers who deal with other SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) companies are often frustrated at the fact that they do not do web design (either at all or not to a high enough standard).  Alternatively customers can be frustrated with Web Design companies who know nothing about SEO.
Why is it that most companies either specialise in either Web Design or SEO but rarely both?

Well the answer is essentially that the two skill sets are so different that very few businesses can master both.  As a result they shy away from the disciple that they know least about.  We at Creare do not accept that a company cannot to both if you put your mind to it.  The Creare suite of companies also includes Web Design (if you want proof do the search web design and you will see our sister company on page 1).

Why do Creare do both Web Design and SEO?

Well it’s simple really.  The customer does not want a company who provides half the solution.  What the customer wants is a great looking site that also has good Google (and other search engines) listings.  We at Creare are driven to deliver what the customer wants.  That is why we…….. Which phrases should I optimise for?

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

We at Creare are often asked by potential customers which phrase/s should they optimise for and how will they know how the phrases are performing once the optimisation process has started?  Relax, we at Creare do the hard work and will guide you through this process of keyword selection helping you to select the phrases right for your business and budget.  I have detailed our simple process for selecting and monitoring keywords for organic search engine optimisation ( SEO ) below.

Step 1: Selecting the Keyphrae/s

Creare will provide you will a list of potential keyword detailing how competitive each phrases is and how much traffic each keyword receives.  We then analyse the data and suggest various options for you in a simple way to so that we select the best phrases.

Step 2: Let the optimisation begin……

We then agree timescales, depending on competitiveness of key phrases, and report our results back to you via both Creare Reporting and discussions with you on the phone.

Step 3: The Results……

Usually long before the agreed timescales the customer receives the organic results they expected…..

Step 4: The Future……

It doesn’t stop at this.  We constantly keep your keywords performing and analyse your business future to develop your site and add to your business turnover and profits………

Google Chrome

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Well now that Google Chrome (BETA) has been available for a while what do you think?  I must admit when I first used it I was a bit disappointed, maybe with it being a Google product my expectations were just to high but it is starting to grow on me now.

Here are what I consider the main advantages and disadvantages with Google Chrome:

Advantages:

1. Speed.  It definitely does seem to load things up faster than Firefox and Internet Explorer.

2. Simple, Easy to use interface.

3. Is chrash proof?  Well so they claim!!!

4. it’s free and a relatively small download

Disadvantages:

1. Lack of a send-this-page option.

Overall Chrome has definately grown on me and I will continue to use this as my prefered browser for the foreseeable future.  You will be glad to know that Google Chrome will have no impact on SEO results.
